PROFILE
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Md Abul Kalam Azad started his academic journey at Savar Cantonment High (Now Public) School; where he stood 1st position in class Five and got government primary scholarship in 1983. In 1985, he got admitted to Pabna Cadet College (PCC) securing 6th merit position, and thereby he passed SSC in 1989 and HSC in 1991 securing 81.6% and 86.2% marks, respectively.
Mr. Azad got a chance to both BAFA as GD Pilot and Bangladesh Marine Academy. He chose to join 29-GDP long course in 1991; however, left the training academy after 1 year due to medical ground. He then got admitted to Electronics at Dhaka University securing 5th merit position. Unfortunately, he left there again and got admitted to CSE at Jahangirnagar University (JU). In 1999, he secured 1st class 1st position in BSc exam with 78% marks and selected for Asadul Kabir Gold Medal as a university topper.
After a couple of years, Mr. Azad got admitted to ICT in BUET; where he was about to complete his MSc degree in 2006. However, he left Bangladesh to pursue his foreign MSc degree in IT at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden at the same year. In 2008, he completed his MSc degree in IT major in Computer Network with distinction marks (above 85% in all subjects).
In 2011, Mr. Azad got an opportunity to pursue PhD degree at University of Ulsan, South Korea under a joint scholarship program by Bangabandhu ICT Fellowship and Hyundai Heavy Industries. After 4 years of devoted research work, he left South Korea due to severe medical illness. However, he completed his PhD (Session 2011) in Computer Engineering on 17 February, 2023 with 4 SCI/Scopus index research articles and 1 book chapter in Springer. In the meantime, he completed his 2nd PhD (Session 2016-17) in Computer Science and Engineering on 1 March, 2022 from JU with 4 Thomson/Scopus index research articles and 1 IEEE conference paper.
